Happy 2012!

It's crazy to think that 2012 is already here.  For the first time (maybe ever in my life...I can't say for sure) I sat down and wrote out resolutions for the year.  I have so many things to look forward to in 2012 that I wanted to make sure I really remember it and I think a good way to do that is by having things to look back and reflect on.  2011 was a fantastic year.  The highlights: Zoo Lights, a JOB!!, a dog, Flying Dog Brewery tour, and many happy trips home to PA for time with my family and Pirates baseball.  There were many other happy things that happened, but I never actually wrote down goals for the year.  I was in kind of a weird place at the beginning of 2011.  I had no idea what I was going to do with my life or where I would be in the next year.  I am in a much more stable position now :-)  Sooo here it goes:

Run 2 Half Marathons I already have one on the calendar!  The second one is TBD.  Hopefully one of these will hold the 2:05:xx PR I'm aiming for.  Preferably the first one.  And maybe the second one, too.  I really want to make sure I keep up my running momentum.  I don't want to lose it again so easily.

Take a Spin Class.  Take a Yoga Class.  I have been talking about both of these for a long time.  I really wanted to try both.  I have a yoga dvd, but I think there's value in going to a class and having an instructor let you know if you look anything like you're supposed to.

PR in a 15k Hey!  I did that in 2011!  But it wasn't my best.  It wasn't even good.  I want to look back at a 15k knowing that I felt decent past the 10k mark.

Take Maddux to an Obedience Class He really needs to go.  He channels his inner rabid honey badger when he sees other dogs on our walks.  He is actually really sweet.

This is my sweet baboo.

I also want to go on a picnic and go to a winery about an hour away from my house, but those sound kind of silly to bold them now that I think about it....

So there it is.  I think it's going to be a fabulous year full of running victories and obedient dogs.  On the running note, I had a few good runs when I was at my parents' house for Christmas.  The hills didn't even seem that bad this time.   I ran roughly 15 miles over the week and a half I was there.  I'll take it.  I started the new year with a run a little over 4 and a quarter miles.  I'm almost back at my old pace which rocks.  Have I mentioned that I think 2012 is going to be great?
