Week 14 Recap

After a cold, cold, cold past couple of weeks I finally managed to get some outdoor runs in without having to put on dozens of layers.  It was so nice to be able to get some fresh air again!

Wednesday: I was so tired, but after a quick nap I managed to drag my butt to the treadmill.  The two "good" treadmills were taken, and I figured I better jump on the remaining one before I lost motivation. I don't know why, but that treadmill always feels so much harder than the other ones.  I think it's at a bit more of an incline.  I tried to keep my mind off it by listening to Wait! Wait! and managed to finish up 5 miles at a pretty decent pace.

Saturday: Maddux and I had a great walk at the park.  We enjoyed watching the geese walk all over the frozen pond.  They looked so funny and I was glad they were out on the pond instead of blocking our path!

When we got home I hit the road for a neighborhood run.  The first couple of miles were tough, but the last three felt great! I loved that all I had to wear on my run was a light long sleeve tech shirt and capris.

Sunday: I had a 10x800 run on the schedule and headed out to the trail that has the .5 mile loop.  Unfortunately the back half of the loop was covered with ice still so I had to be a little more creative.  It all ended up ok though and I even had two miles come in under a 8 minute mile pace!  It was definitely a tough run, but it felt really great.  A guy who was out running with his dog gave me a big thumbs up and said "You're KILLING it!" which gave me that extra boost!  Thanks, sir!

Miles for the Week: 15.29 <--I had to get that .04 in!
Shamrock Miles: 220.25

I got a few strength workouts in, but I couldn't tell you what days they happened on.  I did my Tank Top Arms, Bikini Belly, and Boy Shorts Bottom DVD one of the days and a couple of the days I used a deck of cards to workout.  Spades = Squats, Hearts = Planks, Diamonds = Pushups, and Clubs = Sit Ups.

This week was really great for getting back some motivation.  I'm not a gray, winter day kind of girl (but, really, who is?) and the sunshine did me a lot of good.

I hope everyone got a little sunshine and had some terrific runs in this "heat wave!"  Happy running!
